Blogs, being in business and the benefits of Ai

Well, well, well... Here I am, always nudging clients to pen down blogs - it's like an open window to your soul, a sneak peek into what makes your heart beat faster, an echo of your business persona. But, lo and behold, I haven't quite held my own end of the deal (i've not done a blog since just after lockdown!). So, it's high time I stopped just chirping and started singing - here's my inaugural blog of 2024..

15 years! That's how long I've been steering the Love Marketing ship, often wondering if I'm just playing dress-up in this grown-up world of entrepreneurship. But hey, despite the odd bumps and hiccups, my little biz baby is flourishing. Here's the fun part, I get to do things my way, and boy, does it feel good! And you bet, I absolutely, positively, undeniably LOVE it (most of the time anyway).

But as a solopreneur, I'm far from alone, thanks to my fabulous family, friends, clients, and support network. It's like I have an invisible team cheering me on! There are weeks when I'm absolutely nailing this business-running gig, but then, there are those tricky weeks when the imposter syndrome becomes my uninvited guest. It's a wild rollercoaster ride, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Lessons I've learnt

I've learned to surf the storms! Sure, there are days, even weeks, when the ride gets bumpy and it goes tits up. But I hang in there, and hey presto, the sun comes out again! Here's a secret, enjoy every moment, even relish the tiny victories (they count, you know!). And remember, don't beat yourself up - you're rocking it and you are absolutely enough just as you are.

Now, let's dive right into the juicy stuff, the heart of this blog...

So what could be the hot topic of the day? Celebrity Big Brother? Nah. Potholes? A big no-no. The best Easter egg flavour? Hmmm... maybe. AI? Bingo! We've hit the jackpot! So, what's all this hullabaloo about AI? Is it a friendly genie or an ominous shadow, out to steal our jobs?…..

Ready for a secret? I'm a bit of an AI enthusiast, giving my copy a little AI magic before it sees the light of day. I once felt like a cheater, but now? AI is my trusty sidekick, saving the day when deadlines are looming and inspiration is hiding. You know those days, when invoicing and paperwork seem more appealing than writing.

But now, I turn to AI. Instead of struggling for hours over content, I feed my jumbled thoughts into AI and voila! It hands back a polished starting point, sometimes even sprinkling in a few sparkling gems of inspiration.

Consider AI your creative springboard. Use it for e-shots, press releases, website content, social media posts, and blogs. But remember, let it be a tool, not a puppet master. Keep your voice and authenticity at the forefront. Don't fear the AI, embrace it! Who knows, it might just save you time, cash, and even spark that elusive inspiration when you need it the most.

What else have I been up to....

The last few months have seen me..

  • Volunteer for Derby County Community Trust both at Harrisons Hub serving soup and sharing conversations over a cuppa to lending a supporting hand at the Derby 10K, do you volunteer? it doesn't always have to be monetry - time is just as important and definitely provides that feel good factor.

  • Have a photoshoot with friends (i got it my closest friends as a Christmas pressie) and it was SO MUCH FUN! being photographed is never usually fun but this was a game changer (think the fizz may have helped too).

  • I also got a few shots I can use for promotion as well as booking a new brand shoot - which I'm actually looking forward to!

  • Celebrated turning 50 years old :)

  • Went to New York to celebrate my 50th!!

  • Rode my first 100 mile bike ride

  • Met Eddie Izzard - who was lovely and very bossy

So all in all an event last year - here's to the next year x

  • Gained 4 new clients :)

  • Got back on my bike and cycled on a real road as opposed to indoor cycling

  • Found Katie's perfect prom dress

  • Organised a sport career panel at Loughborough Uni

  • Managed an event for Ashfield District Council ADMC project

So enjoy Easter and all the easter eggs and I hope to catch up with you soon.

Much love dx
