I Finally Finished My Own Marketing (Broken Bones and All)

You know the saying: The plumber’s tap always leaks or the the gardener’s garden is overgrown.
Well, in my case, the marketer’s business has very little marketing.
For months (okay… years), I’ve been busy helping other businesses get their strategies straight, their content flowing, and their campaigns actually working — while my own shiny new membership idea sat gathering dust in the corner of my brain.
Enter Brand Buddies. A membership I was meant to launch ages ago. Except life had other ideas…
The Plot Twist: Dawn vs Pavement
Somewhere in the middle of trying to get this off the ground, I managed to fall spectacularly while running.
Result? A broken elbow and broken ribs. (Yes, I commit to my dramatic metaphors in real life too.)
So, instead of writing sales pages, I was learning how to type one-handed, and instead of delivering workshops, I was perfecting the art of wincing every time I sneezed = Marketing timeline = delayed.
Why It Took Me So Long
Perfectionism. “I’ll just tweak this one sentence…” became weeks of tweaking.
Client work. Your marketing always feels more urgent than my own — because, well, it usually is.
Life’s curveballs. Or in my case, life’s concrete kerbs.
But here’s the thing: out of chaos comes clarity. While I was laid up, I realised that the very reason Brand Buddies needed to exist was staring me in the face.
The A-Ha Moment (Take on me ;)
Marketers and business owners don’t need more courses. We don’t need more “someday when I have time” PDFs. We need support, accountability, and actual space carved out to do the work.
That’s what Brand Buddies is. A membership where you get:
💡 Monthly 1:1 deep dives to untangle the mess in your head.
💡 Peer sessions so you’re never figuring it out alone.
💡 Masterclasses that are practical, not fluffy.
💡 Strategy days where things actually get written, planned, and ticked off.
And yes, there’s a WhatsApp group so you’ve always got a marketing mate in your pocket.
The Moral of the Story
Sometimes it takes a broken elbow and a few cracked ribs to finally get round to launching your own stuff. (10/10 do not recommend as a productivity hack.)
But here we are: Brand Buddies is live. It’s real, it’s happening, and it’s built to stop other people falling into the same trap I did — putting everyone else’s marketing first and leaving your own brand to fend for itself.
👉 So, if you’re ready for serious marketing done with love (and a little mischief), come join me.
Bonus: no broken bones required.
